軼事:把福音帶給中國的良機

When the Taiping Rebellion established its headquarters in Nanjing on March 19, 1853, Christians in Europe and America thought that it was a great opportunity to evangelize China. Caught up on the crest of such a tide, Hudson Taylor was ready to discontinue his medical studies and sail for China as soon as possible. The Chinese Evangelization Society sent him on a 156-day sail on the Dumfries. After a bumpy and dangerous journey, he arrived at the Wusong, mouth of the Huangpu River, on March 1, 1854. Hudson Taylor was overwhelmed with emotions as he finally stood among Chinese people.
